UPSC Prelims 2024 Result Out: Results for the Civil Services (Preliminary) test were held by the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) on Monday. Candidates have been notified about the results on the official website of UPSC i.e. upsc.gov.in. The test’s question sheets were made available beforehand. The test was conducted this year on June 16 and the results are currently available.
Paper 1 and Paper 2 of the general studies portion of the UPSC CSE Prelims 2024 took place in two shifts for a total of 400 marks. Every question had four options and was of the objective kind.
Following the UPSC Prelims results, the chosen applicants are eligible to move on to the Mains phase, which is divided into two sections: a written exam and an assessment of personality. The expected start date for the CSE Mains 2024 is September 20.
How to Download the Results for the UPSC Prelims 2024?
For Paper 1 of General Studies, The commission will let you know the decided cutoff marks. Whereas for Paper 2 of UPSC prelims, there is a criterion of 33% marks. The commission will release a list of applicants qualified for the Civil Services (Main) Examination.
The following will result in negative marking for wrong answers:
There are two objective-type (multiple-choice) papers in the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination: Paper 1 and Paper 2. The total score for all of these papers is 400. Applicants who qualified for the Civil Services (Main) Examination will not have their marks from the Preliminary Examination factored into their overall order of merit.
A Written Examination and an Interview/ Personality Test are two parts of the Civil Services Mains Examination. There will be a total of nine standard essay-style papers in the written exam, two of which are qualifying in nature. Ranking will be determined by adding together the scores from the Interview/Personality Test and all major papers from paper I to paper VII.
Applicants will be contacted for a personality test if they receive the minimal qualifying marks in the written portion of the Main Examination, as decided by the Commission. Selected candidates will be invited for the interview or personality test. There is no minimum qualifying mark out of 275 marks in the interview/personality test.
Candidates should also be advised that the marks, the pre-cut-off marks, for the 2024 CSE Prelims will only be made available on the Commission’s website. Through the UPSC CSE 2024, a total of 1056 positions in the central government’s departments and services will be filled including Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), and Indian Police Service (IPS). 40 of the available positions are for individuals who fall under the Benchmark Disability Category.
