Shubman Gill remarked after the match, “We bowled really well, but we perhaps let ourselves down in the field. We weren’t up to par, and everyone seemed rusty. We discussed taking our time and enjoying ourselves while batting, but that did not happen. We had lost 5 wickets halfway through; it would have been ideal for us if I had stayed till the end; I was quite dissatisfied with how I was dismissed and how the rest of the game went. There was still optimism for us, but when you’re chasing 115 and your number 10 batsman is out there, it indicates something is wrong.”
Sikandar Raza won the title of ‘Player of the Match’. He said following the match, as “I’m overjoyed with the victory. The job is not over, and the series is not over. International champions play like champions around the world, so we must be prepared for the next game. This is not a wicket where you can get bowled out for 115. Credit to both teams’ bowlers. Clearly an indication that we need to improve our talents. I stated I didn’t care about the outcome as long as we were faithful to the audience and the changing room, had our ideas, committed to them, and supported our people”.
