Official’s statements on Zika Virus cases

Three ward office jurisdictions have yielded about twenty samples, according to Dr. Rajesh Dighe, (assistant health officer of PMC).
The goal is to screen for Zika infection in all expectant mothers in the three ward regions and even the surrounding areas. He stated that expectant moms are the focus of greater scrutiny.

If expectant mothers are reluctant to get a Zika test, at least an ultrasound or abnormality test should be performed to monitor the development of the baby. Pregnant women are the focus of intensified surveillance, he said.

In response to the recent Zika virus infection case that was recorded on Tuesday. The Kothrud-Warje ward office jurisdiction and the surrounding region have been included in the surveillance and containment measures, according to Dr Kalpana Baliwant, the PMC health officer.

“Infection with the Zika virus in pregnant women is serious.” As a result, we have requested that all Asha employees and health officials advise expectant mothers receiving antenatal care in hospitals managed by PMC to get tested for the Zika virus,” she stated.

The majority of those who have it have few symptoms. In addition, the disease can transfer from a pregnant mother to the developing baby through organ transplantation and sexual contact.

Since there is currently no vaccine to cure or prevent Zika, avoiding mosquito bites is the safest approach to protect yourself.
