Manu Bhaker Olympics 2024 Highlights: Manu Bhaker, an Indian shooter, qualified for the final in second place in Paris on August 2 and kept herself on pace for a hat-trick of Olympic medals by turning in one of the greatest performances in her favourite event, the 25-meter sports pistol.
Manu Bhaker’s campaign in Paris has already been amazing. Two medals from two finals. She also performed incredibly well on 2nd August, Friday in the 25-meter event, putting herself in the running for a third medal.
Manu Bhaker Olympics 2024:
Manu Bhaker, the shooting star from India, has qualified for her third final participation in the Games in the women’s 25m pistol final at the Olympics in Paris. Bhaker reached this milestone on Friday, coming in second place in the selection round with a strong 590 points, just losing to Veronika Major of Hungary.
The 22-year-old, who has already created history by being the first athlete from India to win a pair of bronze medals in a single quadrennial competition, can increase her haul if she takes home a third medal on Saturday. Given her dominant accomplishment in the qualification round, she has a good chance of doing so.
Manu finished second with a total of 590, behind Hungary’s Veronika Major, who tied the record for the Olympics with a score of 592. Manu was the clear winner of the competition, finishing in the top three nearly the whole “rapid” and “precision” round qualification phase.
Manu has won the bronze in the 10m women’s air pistol and the mixed team bronze in the 10m air pistol, partnering with Sarabjot Singh.

Manu has noticed a noticeable improvement in her shooting since mending her partnership with famed shooter-turned-coach Jaspal Rana.
During the demanding “precision” round of the sports pistol qualification, she fired 294 with scores of 97, 98, and 99, demonstrating her unbeatable form.
Rahul Dravid remarked, “After the disappointment of the Tokyo Olympics, Manu Bhaker Olympics 2024 story is incredible. To come here and be able to get over that and compete and bronze is a phenomenal achievement.”
Manu Bhaker’s gun malfunctioned during the Tokyo Games in 2021, preventing her from realizing her Olympic dream. Heartbreak, she said, increased her appreciation for the medals here.
Manu Bhaker Olympics 2024 advanced her third final in as many competitions, setting a record for Indian shooters and creating the possibility of a historic third medal.
Only the legendary Abhinav Bindra made 3 Olympic shooting finals for India over three Games; no other Indian shooter has advanced to more than one final at an Olympics.
Manu made it three in a row by finishing second in the women’s 25-meter pistol final with a score of 590 out of 600. In the course of the two-stage qualification on Friday, the 22-year-old fired a total of 294 in the accuracy round and 296 in the quick round.
She has already won bronze in the women’s 10m air pistol and the mixed 10m pistol event partnering Sarabjot Singh in the past week. Having won three Olympic medals, she now has the opportunity to become the best Indian shooter.
Manu has penned one of the most amazing comeback tales in Indian sports, though, even if she doesn’t place first on the podium on 3rd August.
Manu, who has won the most medals in air pistol, is also a strong competitor in sport pistol, having taken home bronze in the World Cup.
She will have the opportunity to go (again) to a location where no Indian has ever been before when she completes a hat-trick of wins at one Olympics.
